When your baby is wearing wet diapers for a long period of time, there is a likely chance that your baby would suffer from diaper rash. Also known as diaper dermatitis, it diaper rash causes irritation and discomfort for your little ones.



Diaper rash could be caused by many factors. The most common is contact dermatitis. When your baby's skin is in contact with a wet and dirty diaper for too long, this may cause the formation of rashes.

2. Baking soda

How to use it:
Add 2 tablespoons of baking soda with 4 cups of warm water and mix well. Using this mixture, wash your baby’s skin. Allow it to dry naturally. Do this only once a day.

3. Oatmeal

High amounts of protein found in oatmeal help protect the natural barrier of the skin. Oatmeal contains saponins which effectively cleans the pores by removing dirt and oil. Its anti-inflammatory properties also relieve irritation caused by rashes.

How to use it:
Mix 1 tablespoon of dried oatmeal in your baby’s bath water. For 10-15 minutes, soak your baby in the water and pat with a clean towel to dry. Do this twice a day.

4. Apple cider vinegar

Acetic acid is the main component of apple cider vinegar. It is a natural disinfectant and it’s antibacterial and antifungal properties can help treat diaper rashes.

How to use it:
Add 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar to a cup of warm water. Using a clean cloth, wipe your baby’s bottom using this solution. Repeat twice a day.

5. Aloe vera

Aloe vera is known for its soothing and moisturizing effect that help provides comfort for your baby’s skin. It also has antibacterial properties that help combat bacteria-causing rashes.


How to use it:
Apply an adequate amount of aloe vera gel to the affected area. Do this 2-3 times a day.

6. Breast milk

7. Petroleum jelly

A well-known moisturizer and anti-inflammatory agent, petroleum jelly can help soothe irritation and swelling caused by rashes. It can also act as a protective barrier to prevent certain microbes from coming in contact with the skin

How to use it:
